Farmers’ Market Collection – FAQs

Can I collect my Ted’s Veg Box from a farmers’ market?

What do I need to bring when collecting my order?

Please bring your order confirmation with you. This can be shown on your phone; there is no need to print it.

We may ask you to provide:

  • Your order number
  • The name the order was placed under
  • Your order confirmation email or checkout confirmation

This helps our market team make sure the correct box is handed to the correct customer.

Where do I collect my box?

Come directly to the Ted’s Veg stall at your selected farmers’ market and tell a member of the team that you are collecting an online order.

Your order will be stored separately from our normal market stock wherever possible.

When can I collect my order?

Orders must be collected during the advertised trading hours of your selected market.

We strongly recommend arriving with plenty of time before the market closes.

Orders cannot be left at the market after Ted’s Veg has finished trading.

Once the stall has packed away and departed, we cannot leave your box with another trader, the market organiser, a nearby shop, security staff or anywhere else at the market.

What happens if I arrive after the market has closed?

Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide your order once the Ted’s Veg stall has packed away.

Our vehicles, staff and remaining produce leave the market at the end of trading, so there is no facility for us to store an uncollected box locally.

What happens if I forget to collect my box?

If you fail to collect your order during the selected market’s trading hours, the order will be treated as an uncollected order and will not normally be eligible for a refund or replacement.

Our boxes contain fresh and highly perishable produce which has been specifically picked, packed, transported and reserved for your order.

Because of the nature of the goods, we cannot guarantee that an uncollected box can be resold or returned to stock.

Please therefore make sure you are able to attend your selected market before placing your order.

Can I collect my box the following day instead?

No. Market collections are prepared for a specific market and collection date.

We cannot guarantee storage or transfer of an uncollected box to another market or another day.

If you know in advance that you will be unable to collect, please contact us as early as possible and before your order has entered picking and packing. We will try to help where reasonably possible, but changes cannot be guaranteed.

Can someone else collect my box for me?

Yes.

Another person can collect on your behalf provided they can show your order confirmation or order number and provide the name the order was placed under.

Once the order has been handed over using those details, it will be considered collected.

Can I change my collection market?

Changes may be possible before the order cut-off and before the order has been picked or dispatched to the market.

After that point, we cannot guarantee that we can move your order to another market because stock and customer boxes will already have been allocated to individual vehicles and market teams.

Please contact Ted’s Veg as soon as possible if you need to make a change.

Can I cancel my collection order?

Cancellations should be requested before the applicable order cut-off.

Once your order has entered picking, preparation or dispatch, cancellation may no longer be possible, particularly where produce has been specifically allocated or prepared for your order.

This does not affect your statutory rights where goods are faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied.

What if there is a problem with my order?

Please check your order as soon as reasonably possible after collection.

If an item is missing, incorrect or not of the expected quality, contact Ted’s Veg promptly and, where appropriate, send photographs of the affected produce.

Because we are dealing with fresh produce, problems should ideally be reported within 24 hours of collection.

What happens if an item in my box is unavailable?

Fresh produce is seasonal and availability can occasionally change due to weather, harvest conditions, quality or supply.

Where an item becomes unavailable, Ted’s Veg may:

  • provide a suitable alternative;
  • adjust the quantity or pack size;
  • remove the unavailable product; or
  • provide an appropriate refund or credit for that item.

We will always aim to keep the overall value and purpose of the box as close to the original order as reasonably possible.

What happens if the farmers’ market is cancelled?

Very occasionally a market may be cancelled or Ted’s Veg may be unable to attend because of severe weather, vehicle problems, market-organiser decisions or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

If this happens, we will contact affected customers wherever reasonably possible and arrange an appropriate alternative, such as another collection date, another collection location, delivery where available, or a refund.

You will not lose the value of your order where the failure to collect is because Ted’s Veg or the market has cancelled the collection.

Will my order be kept refrigerated at the market?

Produce will be handled and transported appropriately for the products contained within your order.

However, farmers’ markets are temporary outdoor retail environments rather than permanent collection premises.

Customers should therefore collect their order promptly and take any temperature-sensitive products home as soon as reasonably possible.

Do I need to bring bags or boxes?

Your order will be packed ready for collection, but we encourage customers to bring reusable shopping bags or boxes where practical.

Packaging may vary depending on the size and contents of your order.

Can I add extra items when I collect?

Yes, subject to availability.

You are welcome to purchase additional fruit, vegetables and other products directly from the Ted’s Veg stall when collecting your box.

Market stock changes throughout the day, so we cannot guarantee that every product will still be available when you arrive.

Farmers’ Market Collection

Your order must be collected from the Ted’s Veg stall during the advertised trading hours of your selected market.

Please bring your order confirmation or order number.

We cannot leave orders at the market after trading has finished.

If you fail to collect your order before the Ted’s Veg stall closes, your order will normally be treated as an uncollected order and cannot be refunded or replaced, as our boxes contain fresh, perishable produce that has been specifically picked, packed and transported for your order.

Collection is currently not available from Queen’s Park or Wimbledon Farmers’ Markets.

Market attendance and trading times may occasionally change due to weather, events or circumstances outside our control. If Ted’s Veg is unable to attend your selected market, we will contact you and arrange an alternative or refund.
