Red Plum Galette

Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and diced

- 4-5 red plums, pitted and sliced
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 1 tablespoon butter, cut into small pieces
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Coarse sugar (for sprinkling)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Cut in the chilled butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gradually add ice water, a tablespoon at a time, mixing until the dough comes together.
- Shape the dough into a disk, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, toss the sliced plums with granulated sugar, cornstarch, vanilla extract, and lemon zest until evenly coated.

Ingredients
- 2 cups sliced red plums
